Safe in our hands

Health and Safety is paramount and, as testament to the importance Henderson Campbell attributes to this, we are proud holders of the CHAS accreditation certificate, awarded to companies that have passed the Contractors Health and Safety assessment scheme.

No-one goes onto one of our sites without undertaking our own relevant training – and that includes visitors. Everyone must attend an induction course that covers all aspects of site safety and regulations.

All our employees also undertake relevant CITB NVQ accredited training and, to make sure that all procedures are upheld, we regularly hold extensive Toolbox Talks (site specific reminders of such topics as the use and storage of hand tools, plant safety and the use of scaffolding on site). We also ensure that we keep abreast of all new industry safety initiatives and guidelines, introducing them when and where relevant.

As Health and Safety is so important to us and our clients, we make sure each of our sites is audited once a month by an external assessor for the full duration that work is in progress.

CHAS is a well-respected assessment scheme devised and run jointly by local authority, health and safety and procurement professionals, with the support of the Health and Safety Executive.
